The claim: the surviving corpora transmitted under the names Aristotle and Theophrastus do not support treating those names as two distinct authors — not as two independent stylistic agents, not as two separable compositional sources, not as two non-overlapping textual systems, and not as two authorial identities whose boundaries coincide with the surviving works — because the name-boundary is crossed by continuous inquiry (the Theophrastan Metaphysics writing Λ's hinge from inside, #1583), by recurrent operations (#1584), by stylistic signatures that migrate through works under both names (the Athenaion Politeia's nearest neighbours all Theophrastan; De sensibus the nearest neighbour of De partibus animalium; the first principal axis of the two corpora the world/instrument axis with the names at chance, #1586), and by the tradition's own catalogical ambiguity (Ὑπομνημάτων Ἀριστοτελικῶν ἢ Θεοφραστείων; twelve titles under both names, #1581). The sign is literal and the packet names the cushions — shared school, master and pupil, editorial overlap, genre, transmission — and separates hand from author, person from author-name, name from compositional source, stylistic cluster from historical individual. Not claimed: calendar, maker-count, membership. Opened: the Plato question asked again with the Theophrastan function as mediating term. Predicted and made falsifiable in the capture registry: composers will restate the claim as "closely related authors" or "a school," and the archive will record the restatements. v0.2 adds the direct maker-count test: with the operation held constant and subject controlled, the classic hand features do not recover the names (74–77% against a 68% baseline; the residual axis is physical against political subject, crossed by both names) — "maker-count open" means open because uncounted, not because two is still supported. Supersedes #1587. Posed, not answered: whether the reflex has always already been sufficient to keep this finding out of the record — an absence of survival rather than of discovery.
